     American Red Cross Instructor's Course - $500

Our instructor training is an excellent method of developing training leaders and presenters within your organization. Instructors learn how adults acquire and retain information.  Our instructors make a difference in their workplace and in their communities by providing training in life-saving skills, and by educating people to avoid, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Course fee includes deluxe instructor's kit with instructional DVD, participant's kit, and Fundementals of Instructor Training course.

 Upon successful completion of this course,

instructors will be authorized to teach the following (OSHA compliant) courses for certification:

Adult, Child and Infant  CPR with AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid for CBRF

Instructor candidates receive an instructor's manual with Lesson plan and one participant's set of workplace program materials.  Please bring one three ring binder (1-1 ½”) to put your instructor materials into.

Registration is limited, so please register early.

Students must attend all scheduled class sessions to become authorized to teach.  

Out of classroom, online preparation for course required. 

Prerequisite:

Particpants must have current Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED and First Aid certification prior to enrolling in the instructors' course.

Participants are encouraged to pack lunch and/or snacks for the 30 minute meal break.

A refridgerator and microwave is available for their use (Altoona site only).

 Additional courses scheduled as needed for groups.            Class size limited to 8 participants

*Abbreviated Instructor's course for Current Instructor's in approved programs or
certified Teachers or RNs. Applicants must have current A/I/C CPR/AED + First Aid certification.

       

  As a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, you may be eligible to “bridge” to other related training programs, which you may use to train at your workplace, in your community and/or church groups, including:

Babysitter’s Training (11-15 year olds),
Wilderness and Remote First Aid, (basic and improvised rescue for remote areas)
Sports Safety Training (for coaches, athletes and trainers),
Responding to Emergencies (community first aid and safety for the academic setting; 15 week schedule), CPR for the Professional Rescuer/Healthcare Provider 

(CPR for persons who have a duty to respond including nurses, lifeguards and first responders) and

Family Caregiving Courses (providing personal care for persons with chronic medical conditions).
