Disaster Instructor Specialty Training (DIST) - Advance
Disaster Instructor Specialty Training (DIST) is an instructor-led course designed to prepare knowledgeable and experienced Disaster Services workers to teach basic level disaster training courses, thereby ensuring uniform and quality disaster training consistent with Red Cross policies and the regulations and procedures of Disaster Services. Participants will be Red Cross employees and volunteers with disaster relief experience within the Red Cross unit and experience instructing or a demonstrated ability to work effectively in group settings.
PREREQUISUITES: The basic course the candidate intends to teach and sufficient operations knowledge and experience to be able to convey accurately the concepts, principles and procedures contained in the course the candidate intends to teach and to be able to answer participants’ questions. Must complete and submit to Form 5898H to Jenny Legaspi. Please submit F5898H to your local chapter for approval before to sending to Jenny if you are not from the Western Wisconsin Chapter.
